Hello, world! I’m Rebecca, and I am so excited to finally launch Scarlet Leaf Editing, which is the fancy new name of my freelance editing business. Formerly called RebeccaActually, my business has been in need of an updated look and feel for some time now, and AT LAST IT IS HERE! It’s been months in the making, and I hope you will love it. 🙂
The way I do business is essentially the same, but now I’ve spelled out exactly what I do and how I calculate price quotes so that potential clients know what to expect—just check out Rates & Services to get the details. I’ve also got a brand new page called Start Here that explains how I define the types of editing I offer. There’s a lot of crossover between the different types, and every editor’s definition of each one inevitably varies. Now you won’t have to wonder what exactly you’re getting if you sign up for editing.
On an even more exciting note, I’m giving away a free fifty-page edit as part of my (re)launch! Yes, freeeeeeee! The winner can pick from any type of editing I offer, so you can enter no matter how far along you are in your writing process. To enter, you just need to follow Scarlet Leaf Editing on Twitter and RT my announcement tweet (which can be found here). If you think you might need editing in the near (or far!) future, follow me on Facebook and Twitter, because I’ll be posting about open slots in my schedule, promotions and coupons, and most importantly, my feelings on the Oxford comma. This contest will end at 3:00 p.m. CDT on May 27, 2016, at which point I’ll randomly draw the winner and announce their name on Twitter.
I hope you enjoy the new website as much as I do, and keep checking back, as I’ll likely have more contests in the near future. And if you have any questions or thoughts about my services or editing in general, get in touch! Leave a comment on this post, tweet me at @scarletleafed, or send me a message. Tell me what you love about writing or how you feel about two spaces after a period. Let’s make shiny words together!
